Saras Yorkies, it’s a brand. Not just a name. When we put our brand on a puppy our reputation as one of the best breeders of quality Yorkshire Terriers goes with that dog.
It is easy to say, but much harder to deliver. The old saying of ‘quality not quantity’ is more than a motto here - it is our mandate.
Here on the side of a mountain on Vancouver Island, shaded by fir trees and cooled by mountain air, my husband, a veterinarian, and I breed the best Yorkies possible. It is our passion, and our love. We happen to think our dogs are the most adorable, easy to love, little creatures the world has ever seen. Don’t I sound just like a mother? well I guess I am.
We searched the best breeding kennels in the United States -Washington, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Illinois, and Oklahoma to find the bloodstock needed to meet the standards we set for ourselves. We found what we wanted, guaranteeing the characteristics in my breed. It was this criterion that produced the champions that gave us those coveted ribbons.

While each dog is registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, I do not breed strictly for the show ring. I enjoy my dogs so much I want my buyers to enjoy them as much as I do. I would like them all to be champions, but my ideals are to produce good pups from healthy stock, free as possible from genetic conditions, and most of all with good temperaments.
With this in mind our puppy room is in our house and has been designed to ensure the healthy environment needed, but socialize them while grooming and cuddling. It is this way they learn to live in a people world.
